Welcome to Our Divine Intervention

It takes a lot for someone to share their experiences. To be so open and transparent is both terrifying and liberating, but also something I feel I need to do. Having gone through several difficulties and traumatic experiences I know first-hand how it feels to truly lose who you are. To get lost in the black hole that is depression is one of the hardest things you can experience.

Anyone going through depression or suffering with anxiety will know that friends and family seem to just disappear. Call me stubborn, but I refused to discuss my sadness with anyone who didn’t know exactly what I was going through. I found it extremely difficult to except help from anyone, counsellors or therapists. I mean, what could a counsellor tell me that I couldn’t read out of an educational book?

This isn’t to say no one should seek help from counsellors, because I’ll tell you a secret, later in life I reached out and had a counselling session, but we can discuss that another time. I knew counsellors were restricted in sessions in what they could say, unable to give their own personal advice, bound by legislation no doubt.

This is where I come in. Sometimes you need someone relatable, someone who can give advice and share their experiences, someone who understands what you’re going through. This could be that vital steppingstone to seeking professional help, or it could be all the help you need.
